Telangana’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working chief KT Rama Rao tore into Congress and state Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, saying that their “false propaganda” was defeated by the people of Maharashtra.
The sharp comments of KTR came as the BJP-led NDA registered a landslide victory in the coastal state. As per the latest poll panel data, the BJP had won 95 seats and was leading on 38, while Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena emerged victorious on 44 and was leading on 13. While the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party won 35 seats and was leading on six.

“People of Maharashtra have noticed the betrayal of Congress by the people of Telangana in implementing the poll promises and rejected the party. Despite spending Rs 300 crore of Telangana taxpayers’ money on false advertisements, the public in Maharashtra did not believe Congress’ lies,” the BRS MLA said.
KTR also lashed out at Congress, alleging that the party made contradictory messages in Telangana and Maharashtra.
“While it promised Rs 3,000 in Maharashtra, it failed to deliver Rs 2,500 to 1.6 crore women in Telangana,” he said.
Speaking on the Jharkhand polls, KTR said that the Congress could not independently form a government and had to rely on Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
In the 81-seat Jharkhand assembly, Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s JMM-led INDIA bloc was poised to form the government after crossing the majority mark.
Speaking to the media about the Assembly results, KTR emphasized that the future of Indian politics belongs to regional parties.
“The Maharashtra and Jharkhand election results reflect the growing dissatisfaction with national parties like BJP and Congress and highlight the importance of respecting regional aspirations,” KTR said.
